We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Bare Hill apartments. We had no complaints whatsoever about the property. The cleaner serviced the rooms regularly and the pool area/gardens were immaculate too. The management and staff were helpful with anything we needed, including booking taxis and ordering any off site restaurant food that we wanted delivering. There are 2 supermarkets within walking distance which are well stocked. We went for a chilled out holiday which is what we got. If you want to explore I'd recommend hiring a car, but there are lots of buses that pass the apartments too. All the bars and restaurants are centred around Girne which is 25 mins on the bus or 10 mins in a taxi. Thanks to Ali, his father and the other staff for making our holiday peaceful and relaxing. We would return as couldn't really find any faults.

if you want a relaxing holiday ,no noisy revelers ,this is it , ,A Five star hotel it is not ,but what it is, gives you a feel of real cyprus, nice layed out gardens with views over the mountains at the back and the sea to the front, an easy 8 minute walk to Golden beach (see review) where for a few lira you get a sun bed and swim from a sandy beach, We took a self catering package but had breakfast a few days in the hotel which for 20 lira ,3 POUNDS STERLING good value ,coffee fruit juice, cerials ,and followed by bread tomato cucumber boiled egg, and olives , The rooms were basic BUT comfortable ,Nice bed ,plenty of storage space ,small tv ,(but all in Turkish,) and balcony to sit out on, hair drier and slippers all provided , would i come back here ,YES,very friendly layed back peaceful ,most enjoyable holiday

The prices unbeatable. The rooms were clean. The grounds are so beautiful. The owners and staff are gems! I would like to thank Ali and Gemal for their services and kindness. Francis and I will be back to stay. We enjoyed our stay and your services were great. Always helpful in anyway possible. Friendly and kind. I miss you all. Can't wait to visit again. Anytime we had a request or an issue the management was there to resolve any issue and fulfill any request with great courtesy. We did not know much about the area and Ali was always available to help us. Thank you. A very relaxed environment with warm and friendly staff. Gemal (Father of Ali) was there everyday and a very enjoyable character even though we did not speak the same language we seemed to manage perfectly fine. This is a great place to bring your family as they are very family oriented. Best prices and the most beautiful grounds of all the hotels in the neighborhood was what drew us there, but the beautiful people running the place and their staff is what call us to come back. We really enjoyed ourselves in the very laid back and beautiful hotel. We are definitely going to be back for a vacation again. Stephanie

Great scenery, near the ocean with a view of the ocean. Grounds are beautiful and staff is very friendly. Ali ( Son) and Gemal (Father) are both friendly and helpful. Nice clean and peaceful place. We arrived at Bare Hills in September of this year, on arrival we were offered a cup of tea by the manager "ALI' even though it was early hours of the morning. We were then shown to our apartment which was clean and cosy. The complex was very clean and set in wonderful gardens. The pool was a good size and there were lots of available sun loungers. I think the main thing for us and our wonderful stay here, was that nothing seem to be a problem , and Ali, the manager went out of his way to help us with any request we had. Eve on occasions of panic (when I thought I lost my handbag ) ali was quick to help and shown concern for its safe return. Whenever we wanted taxis anywhere , it wasn't a problem, and allowing us later check out too. This place will remain a special in our hearts as we were not only here for a holiday but for some hospital treatment, and being able to relax in such a lovely tranquil place I believe helped so much. We will definitely be returning back to this little 'gem' of a place and have remained friends with ali and some of the wonderful staff o social media. A lovely place, with genuinely lovely caring people who run it ……. Thanks for all your kindness and we hope to see you in the future .

Absolutely loved it, it’s so clean and only 12 minutes from the harbour! The beach around it is breathe taking! The father and son owners were so lovely and welcoming, we had to stay another night it was so nice!

Intended a winter break - dec/jan 2017. To try for some sun and to visit old friends. Booked a 'bungalow' as 2 of the party of 4 are partially disabled and cannot do stairs! Firstly, I must say that I know north cyprus very well, having spent a few years there when my partner was there on business. I had only ever driven past bare hills a few times and had never been there before. Arrived late at night, freezing cold, the bungalow had an upstairs! (yes!) 1 poxy 2- bar electric fire, everything damp and cold - the beds, the sheets. Had barely any sleep, shivering all night in all our clothes and all the blankets we could find. First day - no cold water to sink. Second day - toilet leaking constantly on to bathroom floor making it slippery and dangerous. Third day - one couple asked to be moved due to partially disabled person almost falling down the stone stairs whilst holding on to a very loose hand rail. Contacted travel rep - he told other couple who moved rooms they didn't have to pay any extra. (they were charged over £300) Fourth day - had to buy most kitchen equipment to be able to cook a meal. We were used to the 'normal' north cyprus way of having the gas botle for the hob in the kitchen cupboard - but we made sure the gas was switched off at the bottle before we went to sleep. My partner still doesn't think it's safe at all! Fifth day - still freezing cold - went to buy hot water bottles. Day six - finally had enough of the 'bungalow' - the final straw was when I went to wash my hair and there was no hot water - I burst into tears! enough was enough! complained to the manager - and finally my partner and me were moved to another room, the indian staff were wonderful and helped us move everything! The other issues were these - a cold draught coming in under the door - probably ok in summer - but this was one of the worse winters in cyprus I have ever known - a few years ago we could swim in the sea on boxing day! Had to use towels as draught excluders. At night the wild dogs would be outside the door - trying to get food - they would rip open all the rubbish bins outside and spread it everywhere. Second night I heard a noise at the door around 3 am and opened the door to a huge dog growling at me! it was quite scary! The whole place was filthy - we cleaned everything - even asking the lovely indian workers for mops and brooms. We bought lots of cleaning products to clean the bathroom and as the loo was disgusting we bought bleach to clean it throughly. We did not eat in the restaurant, swim in the pool or drink in the bar - we actually spent most evenings at a friends house where it was warm, cosy and clean. I would not recommend this place to anyone and if you have kids, be very very careful - there are so many hazzards everywhere! In fact, please don't risk it! In the end - we managed to have a reasonable break and have visited north cyprus many times since but will never stay here again. DO NOT LET THIS PLACE PUT YOU OFF VISITING BEAUTIFUL NORTH CYPRUS!

Location is really good and close to 2 beachs and Girne castle. The room is big and clean. View is from the room beatiful😊. Especially you ll like to talk with the owner about history and north cyprus.
