"Hotel in Ordnung"

6.0

"Exceptional"

Extremely nice Hotel for the price. The only small issue eas the free breskfast. The food has been sitting out for hours and started discoloring. But I would stay there again!

"Grand on the outside & great value "

6.0

I stayed here just for one night and could see some period splendor in the beautiful staircases straight away! Unfortunately the faint smell of drains hit us upon entering the room which appeared very clean but quite dated and with few mod cons. Being tired, I didn't notice the TV on the window sill behind the curtains but have to say, the bed was really comfortable with huge pillows and slept like a baby. The breakfast was a nice mix of continental & cereals, with scrambled egg and sausage available with a variety of lovely fresh bread. Upon leaving the hotel, we were able to see what a gorgeous building it is and just feel it needs a little t.l.c in some of the rooms to help the bedrooms match the splendor of the exterior. All in all a very comfortable stay and wouldn't mind staying there again especially when you see it's about a half the price of a premier inn! Well worth a try if you want to be within an easy drive of Hanover airport!

"Poor facilities and service"

4.0

It’s a really poor hotel. It must have been great but long time ago. Rooms are dated. Bathroom is awful, cold and dark. There's no Internet in rooms only in lobby. Breakfast presentation is like from a cheap bar. Don't stay there, if you don't have to.

"Hidden-away gem off the beaten track"

8.0

We stumbled upon this hotel by turning off the Autobahn and going into the first likely town called "Bad X" (which means the town is, or was, a spa and so will have hotels). Following the hotel route we suddenly saw this little old palace (actually it dates from the early 1900's) in a magnificent park. Our room was light, roomy and comfortable and looked out over the park. And over the spring where water and sulphur came bubbling up. Sometimes, when the wind turns, this gives you a distinct feeling of sleeping on a volcano! For us, this added to the charm.
