The Chestnuts Holiday Cottages

The farm animals, the wildlife, the house itself was big and spacious.

It would be useful to have the property name (we discovered each are named) as we didn't know which one was ours. Would have loved to see photos of the property as the Booking.com photos were of the outside areas. I understand this might be difficult as there are multiple properties onsite. My brother-in-law lost £12 on the electric car charger as it was faulty. Though the site had previously informed the charger owners of the issue, it still had problems.

House was just as we remembered - lovely and clean, location great and had fun saying hello to the goats and the Shetland Pony.

The property was in a fantastic location - very quiet too. The rooms are very well equipped - although it would be nice to have a mirror in the bedrooms for when you’re doing your hair etc. The kitchen was a fantastic set up - anything you could possibly need was there and more- and a lovely touch with a welcome pack of tea coffee and biscuits too. The heating had been left on for us too which was lovely as we walked in. There is a great little play area which my grandson loved but the games room needs updating. There was loads of parking available and 2 EV charging points however these did not work unfortunately

There was a stain on our quilt cover which was visible when we walked in the bedroom - we believed it to be blood. There were only 2 plug sockets in the living room but the cottage caters for up to 7 people and we were a party of 6. It was clean in immediate areas but as I closed the bedroom curtains there was a massive cobweb that closed with them. The toilets didn’t flush very well but there was a notice in the downstairs bathroom advising they were not on the mains. Unfortunately we couldn’t get very hot water in the shower in the en suite bathroom - we didn’t try the downstairs bathroom shower - yet the water from the kitchen taps was hot.

It was in a great location, extremely clean and well kitted out with everything you could need. The communication from the owner was excellent. Late checkout was also offered.
