CdC Apartments by Casa do Conto

Die Lage war super. Grosser Supermarkt und Sehenswürdigkeiten in Gehdistanz erreichbar. Metro und Bus direkt vor der Haustüre. Die Schlüsselübergabe war problemlos und das Personal sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Alles ausgezeichnet.

The apartment is owned by the boutique hotel Tipografia do Conto, where you pick up your key. The reception staff were really nice and informative. The apartment is spacious and contains most utilities you require, just ask if you require extra towels. The apartment is located in a busy street, but you don't hear the traffic, because you are facing inwards over a garden. The apartment is only 10 minutes into the old town and the supermarket Pingo Doce is just a few minutes away. The supermarket is fine for breakfast. There are a few local restaurants nearby, our favourite was Restaurante Universal. We didn't spend much time in the apartment due to a lot of exploring.

The circular carpet in the main bedroom was filthy and cannot understand why it had never been cleaned or changed. The windows are not very clean either albeit they are easily accessible. On our initial entry the apartment contained a bad odour, probably related to their drainage system. The simple opening of windows, before a guests arrival, would have elevated this problem. The apartment official pictures show shower gel that was included, however the items in the basket were not provided. The complimentary fruit bowl was well past its sell by date, assume it had been laying around in the hotel. We had heavy rain, just for one night, unfortunately we were kept up all night due to the ground floor garden guests leaving their canopy out. The ground garden apartment is also owned by the hotel, so beware if you are a light sleeper, maybe the hotel can leave a note telling their guest to retract, during the night, during heavy periods of rain.

Amazing location, spacious and comfortable with excellent facilities. Lovely to have access to the hotel pool, a real oasis !

The property is in a good location close to an excellent supermarket. It was aesthetically pleasing, spotlessly clean and comfortable and had everything you could want including laundry, dishwasher, pots & pans, oven, fridge, microwave and so on. We enjoyed a large sunny terrace which overlooked the hotel courtyard. We had a breakfast in the hotel itself & I highly recommend that, lovely coffee, homemade granola, eggs cooked to order however you like, freshly squeezed orange juice - all served up in the sunny courtyard by the kindest most friendly & helpful staff.

The second smaller bathroom had a wobbly/broken loo seat which I meant to mention during my stay but it was a minor issue, everything else was spot on.

Air conditioning only in living room

Check in is in the Hotel Tipographia around the corner from the apartment. You have to use the buzzer to gain access. All the staff members I corresponded with were very helpful. Robert the young man who showed us the apartment was very thorough and gave us a map of porto and outlined where major sights were. There was fresh fruit waiting for us as well as tea and coffee. The apartment is big and kitchen well stocked. The beds are very comfortable.

I loved the location. Elena, who was holding the fort when we arrived, was exceptionally kind. The view into the hotel courtyard is beautiful. I have been traveling around a bit and the ease of checking in here really has been a unique experience.

Fully enclosed shower units might be nice. Still, not a big deal.
