Hotel Labaris Khao Yai

Together with a group of friends, we had a wonderful stay at Hotel Labaris. The location was perfect, close to all the Khao Yai attractions nearby. The Hotel grounds were immaculately manicured and for an avid gardener like me, it was an oasis of Nature. We took the duplex King rooms, which were generously large & very well designed. However,the bed was located on a loft like mezzanine floor,and it involved a walk up a flight of steep steps just to get to bed. It will be inconvenient if you are one of those that need to use the toilet regularly in the night. So opt for the single floor Grand rooms if you want to avoid tripping in the middle of the night. Hotel Labaris is a family friendly Hotel, very nice pool and other facilities catered mainly for kids. So if you are a couple looking for some quiet time together, then this place is not for you. All in all, our stay was almost perfect, if not for the presence of cicadas....our visit coincided with their mating season and there were practically millions of them making a deafening racket throughout the Horel. Even inside our rooms, we could hear them, but luckily by around 7.30pm...they settled down & stopped screeching but only to resume early next morning. So if you are planning a visit to Khao Yai, do check with the Hotel when the next cicada mating season is.

The hotel is beautifully presented. My room was large with a balcony seating area looking out on to the treetops and surrounding hills, very picturesque. Bed very comfortable too. The hotel staff were very friendly and ready to help with every request, even when I locked myself out of my room late at night! The breakfast was really tasty and plentiful, with both Thai and Western options. There was also a great on-site cafe with interesting coffees to try while I waited to head back to the station after check-out.

It felt lonely as a solo traveller. The complex was a bit of a ghost town after a certain time in the evening, with the pool / spa / cafe all shut by 8pm and no dedicated bar / social space to sit and relax in the evening apart from your room. But I am sure that lots of guests come for the peace and quiet and really enjoy it. There also looked to be amenities close by on the same road, so it would be possible to explore options outside the hotel, if you wanted to.

Stayed one night in a pool villa. The room was very nice and large . Beautifully decorated with high end fixtures. I’ll definitely be going back here
