Vincci Consulado de Bilbao

Nice hotel, near to the guggenheim Museum. We could easily walk from the hotel to the sighseeing attractions.perfect location for a City Trip in bilbao. Breakfast was good.

The parking was full so we had to find a public parking. But was not really difficult to find one.

Our room had a river view which was great, all of the staff very friendly and very helpful. Bilbao is easy to get around and the hotel is in a good location, particularly if you are visiting the Guggenheim.

This hotel has great service and rooms and I really loved the neighbourhood. If you’re coming to Bilbao predominantly for the Guggenheim, you absolutely should stay here! I didn’t pay extra for a river view room, but you can see the museum each time you are on the ground floor. And this was the first hotel on my trip where I had a big window, daylight and could see a street, so I was very happy! The area the hotel is in seems quite affluent and stylish (very cute dogs being walked!) and I loved the bars and shops in the roads leading down towards Albiako Lorategiak park and Gran Via as it felt a lot less touristy than the Old Town. As central Bilbao is walkable the choice is if you want to step out into the atmosphere of narrow streets and pintxos-focused alleys of Casco Viejo, or if you prefer to step out to the river, Guggenheim and see more space, wider boulevards and large buildings. I met some tourists who had zero interest in the Guggenheim museum who stayed in the Old Town. I stayed 1 night in the old town and although different, I enjoyed that location too. My room at Vincci was fabulous: great decor and space and easily one of the best hotel beds I have slept in in Europe. The service and help were excellent - the weekend people (Lavinia and a male colleague) were very nice - although the building is big, the section that’s actually the hotel is not huge, so feels quite personal. The only things I can say Id change- its s shame there are no gym facilities; and as the terrace is a bar and restaurant (excellent service there too) as it’s not just for guests it can be crowded. It would be nicer if a corner of the terrace was just accessible for guests staying to sit and unwind (but that’s not a deal breaker). Saturday nights in hotels across Spain seem to cost twice or three times the price of a weekday (Vincci included). I didn’t mind paying the extra costs here rather than elsewhere as I had such a satisfying stay. Overall I absolutely loved it. If only all hotels could be like this!

Everything within walking distance, nice, cousy hotel. Receptionists are very kind, we could also leave our baggage until leaving for the airport.
