Muralha Charm House

This was such a lovely, cool place to stay during very hot weather. The rooms are spacious with air conditioning and the bed was large and comfy. Our room had a little balcony overlooking the street, which was very quiet with easy parking and a central location. The breakfast room is built on the roof with wonderful views of the town and countryside. Our host, Zilda, prepares all the breakfasts which are plentiful and delicious. Zilda is a great host, interested in us and keen to suggest places to go and also where to eat. (The restaurant a few doors away is quirky but excellent). She was invaluable in helping us as we had had our passports stolen in Porto and were hoping the temporary replacements would be delivered to the property. Zilda translated an email for us then waited in the entrance lobby for the delivery which fortunately arrived promptly.

The welcoming hosts made us feel very comfortable, when we arrived and each day at breakfast. They take a personal interest in one's comfort, including the individually prepared breakfast with eggs, fruit, and local products like honey. The room is big, the beds very comfortable, with all we needed. It was very quiet at night. There is wonderful shared sitting areas on each floor of this elegant modernized house, plus a rooftop dining space for the breakfast with a nice view of town. The location is excellent, a short walk from the central plaza, with its many restaurants and bars, as well as the Cathedral, the staircase to the Nossa Senhora church, or the market area, plus just a few minutes to the castle. Parking is plentiful on the street in front of the hotel, and costs very little (including free from 19:00 at night to 09:00 in the morning).

Nothing to dislike.

Gostei do espaço por ser sossegado e uma mistura de antigo com moderno. A dona é muito simpática e acessível. Precisava de estar sozinha e sinto que escolhi o sítio ideal. Recomendo.
