Baymont by Wyndham San Diego Downtown

The location was ok but on a steep hill. Not good for walking with knee issues.

Our first room was on third floor, which was fine until their elevator broke down. Fortunately we asked to be moved and was able to get everything down before the elevator broke. Im an older adult with knee issues. The bathtub was a 3ft x 3ft by 2 ft high, a bit challenging especially with a nonstable bottom that wasn't on a solid surface, slippery and nothing to grab on to. The second room was again on 3rd floor but no elevator, I can't do that many stairs with luggage. We had to come back to the hotel before 2 for a bottom floor room. Everything is Old and stained, air-conditioning is a wall and really noisy. The breakfast was all carbs, no hot protein, no syrup and offered pancakes, waffles and French toast. Wyndham should be ashamed of this properties condition. No loading and unloading zone, small parking lot, completely full. We had to wait for people to load and unload their vehicles because we were blocked in.

The location was fine. The room was clean.

The elevator was broken. We were put on the third floor without being told that the elevator was even broken. There was no sealant or trim around the doors so you could actually see light outside from the door. It just didn’t seem sturdy or safe. The door security latch was also installed crooked and seemed like it had been pushed on pretty hard. It didn’t feel very safe.

The bed and location

You have to pay for parking $25 per night, they did not stock the soaps or other amenities, one of the lights was broken, didn't get a refill of towels, the bathroom is small and dirty and the breakfast was not worth it.

On arrival the customer service reception was brilliant. Perfect location for the sea front, shops and eating places. Generally the staff were good, except....

Not being aloud coffee in the reception area at 6 am and told by the night shift receptionist I'd have to wait until 6:30 am for coffee. Why was there not coffee available as advertised on Booking.com? And why didn't the night shift make sure there was coffee ready for many occupants were awake waiting walking 2 blocks to the 7/11, not acceptable. Very poor breakfast selection and when the coffee ran out we had to wait 20 minutes for the next pour.
