San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront

On my recent visit, there was an issue checking in and I encountered 3 different members of the front desk staff, each more unhelpful and rude than the last. When checking in, there was no welcome, no hospitable tone, no friendliness or willingness to be helpful. The first incident was due to the booking of the reservation. The booking confirmation was under my name, however, Marriott's system had it under my husband's name. Upon this discovery, I quickly pulled out the confirmation email to prove that the reservation is for me. The front desk staff would not accept that, and when I asked what needs to happen, he didn't have a solution. I asked if he need to speak to my husband on the phone - to which he agreed. What didn't make sense was that he would rather talk to a stranger on the phone to confirm than to believe the proof of confirmation with my name and my driver's license. The staff proceeded to check me in but there was a problem with the credit card terminal. The terminal only had chip or swipe, no tap to pay. We inserted the chip of my card multiple times but to no avail. I asked of we could perhaps try a different terminal, and was transferred to another staff member. This second front desk staff tried to process the transaction again. And at this point, I deduced that the chip on my card has been damaged somehow. The card itself was still functional as I had just paid for airport parking and Starbucks via tap to pay. I asked if tap to pay was available, and the staff said no. He then proceeded to ask me if I was sure my card had enough funds to pay. I was taken aback by his question and insinuation. I then asked what other options I had, such as taking down the credit card number and having it processed by their back office - I was told there were no other options other than to use another credit card. I did not have a second credit card with me at the time and was about to be late to pick up my friend from the airport, so I let him know I'd be back so that I could check in then. I used the very same card to pay for airport parking and it all worked just fine. After picking up my other credit card, I proceeded to check in again where a young lady at the front desk was up to bat. I was chatting with my friend in line until the front desk staff was free, and not 2 seconds passed before she impatiently rolled her eyes and gave me a look, signaling it's my turn and to stop wasting her time. She checked us in, using my other credit card that had a working chip, and asked if we would like our room cleaned daily. We responded yes for our 3 night stay and she acknowledged. Housekeeping did not clean our room at all the entire duration of our stay. We were out of the room by 9am every morning and back at 9pm - no housekeeping for all 3 nights. On the last morning of our stay, housekeeping busted in at 9am when checkout is at 11am. Other than the horrible treatment from the staff, the room was fairly clean and had a nice view. I would not recommend any of my future guests to stay here if hospitality is what you seek while traveling.

Faucet leaked in bathroom onto floor, old outdated, and dark. Parking was expensive.

Excellent location for stop over from FSO. Staff were excellent, especially Jose behind the bar.

Great location. Great hospitality. This property has nice walking path along the shore. Their restaurant has a nice vegetarian options too.
