Guesthouse Hotel at La Valle

Renovation project slated to start late 2024 and needed. This trip was just one night and no dining or use of facilities, so no comment.

Stayed in June and had a perfectly fine visit. This one in September was terrible. During a heat wave the AC went out three times, including over night when no options were available. Room was 90 degrees over night. The next day it went out again, we were then told then to go to another room. But while we attended our event (a funeral) our room was left wide open with door wide open--apparently they had tried to fix the AC and then left, without bothering to close the door. Not sure if anything was stolen. Absolutely terrible. When I was asked on checkout if my stay was nice, I said (obviously) "no." Told to leave a note for manager who called a day later and said that maybe he could offer a discount on our next (!) stay in the future if we booked. But of course didn't give his name or contact info (just the regular 800 number). No compensation offered for the terrible stay we had just had. No apology. No nothing. Avoid this place unless you want to get heat stroke!

Very old. Place is falling apart. No breakfast options. Smells old and old air conditioning units very noisy and barely work.

Location is great, and the hotel could be so much more. It’s old and decaying, I found multiple bugs in my room. Shower had hair in it from previous person. The up keep is terrible from landscaping to general maintenance. The bed is super stiff, floor filthy and mildew growing on the “patio”.

The room Next door had a barking dog that was uncomfortable to hear often.

Staff,

carpet very dirty and smelly inside room and asp in the hallways. HVAC didn’t work.

While I believe the buildings need major updating the cleaning lady I encountered did a great job keeping the area clean and was so lovely.

Hotel was in a nice location and quiet. I didn't arrive until 8 pm and did not get to use any of the facilities. Room was clean if a bit musty. Black out curtains worked great and got a great nights sleep.

Only item was that fridge was not on when we got to our room with leftovers.

The hotel was in a nice location and close to where we needed to be. They have a very nice gym and golf course. There is one restaurant and the food was decent.

The rooms were clean but very dated. It had a wall A/C unit right next to the bed which blew cold air directly on your face all night. The temperature control was poor. The tv was tiny and the lighting was not good. The phone in the room was not operational. No room service available. No water refill stations on the hotel side of the property. Front desk staff was not rude, but not super friendly.

The rooms need updated,dirty walls. TV channels you need to purchase so we didn’t utilize that. Shower tub doesn’t drain while showering.
