The friendly staff.

We didn’t realise it wasn’t a hotel but just rooms and apartments. Also the apartment was quite a distance from the main building and then up two flights of stairs with no lift.

"Great location and fantastic service"

Perfect location to explore Porto with fantastic service. We stayed in Torel Apartment 1 which was spacious and had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. The service was amazing and I would recommend this hotel. The apartment gave us the independant travel experience with the help and fantastic service of a hotel. The breakfast were great too!

"Outstanding service, space and location for Porto and surrounding areas!"

The Torel 1884 Suites and Apartments is a fantastic property in a very central location for exploring Porto and doing day trips to surrounding areas such as the Douro Valley. We stayed in the apartments which are located about a block from the main property on a pedestrian street full of shops and restaurants, with live music at many times of the day and evening. The apartments were popular among families but we literally never heard a sound from any of the other apartments. We enjoyed having the extra space. There was also a great rate at the hotel for staying for 5 nights and we were able to enjoy day trips from this location as well as the ability to walk to most places that we wanted to see in Porto. The full service breakfast was top notch and a nice upgrade from the usual buffet at other hotels. Fantastic service at the front desk and by housekeeping as well. When we return to Portugal, we hope to stay in this group's other properties which also look fantastic!

"Wonderful hotel"

It is a lovely hotel with spacious, beautiful rooms. The details of the stately building (formerly a bank) have been beautifully incorporated into the hotel's interior. The staff, from the maid and waiter to the receptionists, are all very friendly and helpful. The à la carte breakfast is highly recommended! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
