Location but little else

My 6th visit to this Government -owned hotel (the only operational one on the Island) as an inward investor. Mantis is certainly not , as advertised, a "5 star" hotel. 2 star at best. The "fantastic breakfast" was a running joke - imported coffee (on an Island that grows it!), no fresh fruit or produce and even eggs were rationed . Food generally poor quality/value. Barman insisted on playing gangsta rap until requested to cease (which he did temporarily). Rooms are tired and , in my case, grubby with shower trap requiring me to unblock it to prevent room from flooding . Government needs to sell this loss-making hotel to a professional operator - it is a very poor advert for what is a beautiful and friendly Island.

Hotel was very good but also very expensive.

Location was the best. This is the only hotel in town, this it can command a high price, though there is a lot of room for improvement to match the price. For example, breakfast could offer a healthier version, not just sausage, beans and bacon. Honey would be nice with oats. Some fresh fruit like oranges, bananas, fresh pineapples. With due respect that StHelena is an island and imports everything from South Africa, the hotel could make an effort to freshen up its fruit and vegetables offer. The staff is friendly however, a more agile and attentive service would be expected from one of the Accords Hotels.

See above, lack of fresh fruit! Lack of honey and a healthier options for breakfast. Staff needs to be more attentive to guests

Jamestown est un peu triste en août...

Difficile de dire ce que j'ai préféré: tout était parfait ! Un personnel d'une grande gentillesse, une situation exceptionnelle, de belles chambres, des petits déjeuners copieux avec des menus différents chaque jour. Un superbe établissement.

Tout était parfait. Rien à changer.

Excelent location to visit the island and to enjoy other spaces like commerce, restaurants, bars, museum, garden and Jacob´s Ladder. Very good and varied breakfast. Good internet access. Hotel restaurant somehow limited in terms of diversity but reasonable quality. Coffe and bottle of water always renewed at the room. Staff very kind and always available for your questions and needs.

Really nothing to mention.

Location, staff, nice room, bar, near business meetings. Upgraded us to a suite. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Close to public swimming pool. Arranged some tours for us. Kettle and coffee.
