Douro Virtudes Apartments Historical Center

Florinda was the best!! The space was cute, clean, great location. Florinda had a map and a list of recommendations ready for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend staying here, the location was incredible!

The only improvement I would suggest is an updated shower head.

This pretty little apartment was perfect for our short stay in Porto. On the 4th floor it faces north and has a narrow balcony so that you can safely throw the windows open. The bed was comfortable (lovely mattress and linen, with a cosy blanket and duvet). The shower room was clean and there was always hot water. The variety and value of the Porto offer meant that we didn’t even have breakfast there but the kitchen looked fine. Heating was provided by an air-con unit in the bedroom which heated the whole apartment with the doors open. Initial access to the apartment was really easy. The location was excellent - right in the heart of the old city, buzzy not busy, and near several colleges which gives the late afternoon/early evening a really cool vibe. The nearest sunset spot is two minutes’ walk away, as are several bars and great places to eat. The Clerigos Tower is five minutes’ walk and the Ribeira is ten minutes away, with possibly the easiest uphill return in the whole city! So that in itself, together with the very competitive price, would have given the apartment a score of 8/10. But that is really only half the story of this apartment…Florinda the owner is Porto’s hidden weapon. She’s lived and worked there for 30 years, knows everyone and everything worth knowing and is really keen to share it with you so that you have the best time in the city. She recommended bars, restaurants, cafes, gardens, markets: we went to all of them and they were all great. She researched and arranged a Douro Valley tour for us to make sure we got the best on offer – and she was spot on. She even took responsibility for getting my partner’s passport returned after he left it in the transfer taxi, speaking to all involved for us. She's very professional but she also gives amazing hugs! Other apartments are available in Porto, but you will have the best time in one of Florinda’s.

A hospedagem foi melhor que o esperado. Confortável, bem localizada, e um bônus a mais pela anfitriã. Florinda foi maravilhosa do início ao fim. Sem dúvidas eu retornaria para a hospedagem.

Le quartier est vivant et à proximité de nombreux sites à visiter. La terrasse est un vrai plaisir. Florinda a été très accueillante et ses conseils ont été précieux.

Great layout with easy short steps from front main entrance. Clean with two toilets and a lovely space outside and view. Warm host that met us with lots of helpful information.

L'accueil de florinda, sa gentillesse et ses petits conseils (restaurant, endroit à visiter absolument), l'appart très propre et fonctionnel, l'emplacement idéal proche du centre historique on peut tout faire a pied. Florinda parle très bien français.

Attention appartement au 3 ème sans ascenseur ( c'est parfait pour supprimer les pastel de nata! ) L'eau de la douche était tiède.

we had a very pleasant stay at the Douro Virtudes Apartments. Florinda the owner was such a lovely kind lady. She provided us with much information and recommendation of places to eat and visit. The apartment was very comfortable with everything you could need to make your stay perfect. The area is very peaceful and very close to everything. I would highly recommend this accommodation.
