Apartamento Purple Room

The Mattresses when I checked them looked clean , new and I thought were comfortable. There are utensils in the kitchen ( pots , pan , plates , knifes , colander ) . Self check in is useful and the parking is a bonus . Location is pretty good if you have a car , it’s a 3-5 euro taxi to Porto centre .

Please please please don’t let the photos fool you… it looked really nice but staying there was a bit of a nightmare for us . First the self check in instructions are fairly simple but some of the keys of the pad were soo stiff , it took us half an hour to gain access and when I messaged the guy about it he didn’t answer at first and then spammed me with messages telling me not to push anything or break anything and asking me who I was ( even though I’d explained that ) . But that wasn’t even the worst of it , the room stank like damp and cigarettes , the laminate flooring was coming up at the edges and peeling away . The floor didn’t look clean , the plates were covered in grease ( I had to sanitize any utensil we used in boiling water and soap before we used it ) , the towels had marks on them , the sheets had hair over them ( and marks ) , cubbords had sticky fingerprints on them and even the cleaning products like the washing up sponge was used . When I had a shower I was soo concerned about the dirt , hair and mould on the walls I made sure to step soo carefully as to not touch a single wall or thing . The ceiling above the shower looks like it’s collapsing/ hanging , the sealant around the shower is caked in mould . The place was soo bad the entire time I had to walk around with shoes on the whole time ( which after walking around the city all day , you want to take them off when you get back ) , even to go to the toilet in the middle of night I put my shoes on because I didn’t want to touch the floor . But actually the worst thing was really that the place is soo dark ( the windows don’t lock and shutter won’t open ) ( and loud right next to the road ) that we felt like we were staying in some dingey hole . Honestly I could go on … but I would not recommend staying here , honestly I was surprised that there wasn’t any bed bugs when I checked . DISCLAIMER : this is for the Purple room bottom floor apartment ( the other ones may be nicer ) .

The place is nice the cozy, the check-in process simple and the communication with the host was very good. The location is very good, the metro station is 3 minutes walk and you have connections everywhere.

The place was not very comfortable for 3 adults because is pretty small and one of the beds is foldable. It wasn't sparkling clean and if you want to cook there, some bigger pots would be helpful.
