Four Points by Sheraton Catania Hotel

I love, love Sicily. Catania is an old town with lots of great places to see. I love old architecture, especially churches. This area where the hotel is located is near the water, so there's bars and restaurants nearby, but honestly the hotel has a pretty decent restaurant and I ate there maybe 2-3x during my 4 night stay. Catania proper has cheap dining for 10 euro plus, so that was also wonderful. Hotel Parking is good, other than that we did a lot of traveling since it's a pretty big island and we explored all sides of it during our trip. Driving through Sicily is tough so be mindful to not rent a large car. The streets are super narrow. However, this one is the closest Marriott to our airport. Location is great because it's less than an hour from Mt Etna, Syracuse, the airport. We did not have a water view and I was Platinum Member for Marriott so I was disappointed with that, but they said they will be full during part of our stay. Also, there were a few hours of no electricity and that happened twice. I liked the floor plan since it's an easy stair climb up and down in case you don't want to wait for the elevator. The floor and lobby walls were adorned with nice art, and to get in and out of the hotel is fairly easy. The furnishings are so-so, and besides the bars and restaurants lining up the main road, there is nothing else. I would likely choose the Ortigia Marriott next time.
