Villa Hoara

The main plus - property is right on the beach. However, the beach is covered with trash. Upon arrival: cigarette butts, empty cigarette packs, styrofoam, and trash were all over the property - garden and yard. Outdoor facilities in sad shape - dirty oven, shower. Broken brooms, buckets, boxes, toys covered with dust. White garden furniture has turned gray due to lack of care, dirty spots. We were shocked to find ants all over the place. We found our toddle covered by ants during his first nap. We had to stock up on anti-ant chemicals and spent the 10 days spraying the powder over all of the floors. There is no place for trash. When asked, the management instructed us to deliver trash to a beach facility 500m away (not sure if this was legal). No air conditioning in any of the bedrooms, temperature at night was 26C. There was a filthy fan, covered with dust in one of bedrooms, and ceiling fans (also dirty) in other 2 bedrooms. Cheap, squeaky beds with worn out mattresses. Kitchen cabinets were smelly. The bathroom: shower covered with rust, an old curtain. Had to keep bathroom window open to minimize odor from plumbing. Internet was not working most of the time. We had noticed this property online, listed under another (perhaps original) name with negative reviews and decided to avoid it. However the listing in HomeAway had a different name and photos, so we ended up falling for this. What a huge mistake! Unfortunately, there is no option of adding photos of the Villa Hoara we spent 10 days in. Dealing with this mess really killed the enjoyment of this vacation. We had a great experience with HomeAway booking last year in France but this came as a shock.
