Giltar Hotel

A lovely seafront hotel with a calm, grown-up atmosphere. One of the best things was that the bar did not have evening entertainment: no karaoke, no loud local band, just a relaxed place to have a drink and unwind.

Nothing major. The hotel is traditional rather than flashy, so some areas may feel a little dated, but that is also part of its charm.

Breakfast was excellent — a proper vegetarian fry‑up and avocado toast done well. Lunch from 12:00 to 15:00 had a great selection of sandwiches and baguettes. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Staff were polite and helpful.

Parking needs better management. Some guests block others in, and the hotel should enforce rules to stop this. There are plenty of paid car parks nearby, and people should use those instead. Staff did ask one driver to move, which was appreciated, but clearer signage and firmer action would help.

On sea front overlooking caldey island, nice view from bay window whilst having breakfast.

Our room was not in centre of hotel, it was a room to the side that was originally a cottage adjoining.

The location was excellent and the breakfast room was good

Breakfast was delicious, and even at busy times the service was good and prompt and well prepared

Only fault my room didn't have a sea view. But appreciate not all rooms have this

Fabulous location very close to the beach. Very clean Hotel and Deluxe room with fabulous views. Amazing Afternoon Tea. Friendly and helpful staff.
