DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Wilmington

Very disappointed, particularly for a Hilton. Air conditioner didn't work, never made up room, when asked for new towels, was told they were out of many items, etc. Bathroom in sad shape. Toilet seat not attached, paint peeling, bottom of bath door disintegrated likely due to lack of paint and humidity. Party lasted until approx. 10:30 where many guests celebrating in lobby and outside. Very noisy.

Clean room and housekeeping daily. Friendly staff, good service and quick response. Would be good to include a microwave on property in the rooms. Also the rooms didn’t have an exhaust vent system for the bathrooms. These are expected given the pricey rates of the stay. Otherwise it was good overall. Would recommend this place and would like to be back for my stay next time.

The staff were very kind. Enough space for parking but at night there were half naked women in front of the hotel smoking marijuana. The rooms were very old and insanitary. The carpet was unbearably old and dirty. They used duck tapes to hold the rips on the carpet.

The parking was safe and convenient. All the guests have to queue to use one microwave oven to warm our food. The hotel had only one functioning elevator for both guests and staff. I was on the 5th floor! The hotel needs urgent renovation.

Location worked well.

Many issues. Air conditioning could not be adjusted and was set at 75 degrees, too hot for us. Bathroom was rough. Toilet seat falling off, 10 minutes to get hot water, paint peeling in ceiling, and more. Never cleaning room and when we asked for new towels, hotel out of many items. Hotel maintenance staff was great and tried to help as best they could.

I thought the property was nice. They have a gym, which I use, they have a restaurant with room service, and I asked for a room on the top floor, which I got, which was pretty private and quiet.

Staff friendly and helpful

I have stayed at the Doubletree on 202 many times, as it is near family. Therefore, it is convenient. It's about 20 minutes to downtown Wilmington with free parking. The road it's on is a suburban strip of strip malls, so if you don't want to have a drink or meal at the bar/restaurant at the hotel (yes it has one) you won't have to drive far to find something else (though walking is out of the question). The staff was very nice, the room was large, there's a proper closet instead of just some cheapo hooks on the wall, and the bed was comfortable. I recommend staying here.

Staff at front desk was courteous and friendly. Room was clean and well stocked.
