Sheraton Imperial Hotel Raleigh-Durham Airport at Research Triangle Park

The property itself is nice. It's located in an office park so there's nothing at walking distance. The Hotel overall was clean, however, its an older hotel and the entire second floor and ny room smelled like old cigarettes. I am sure it's embedded into the building and they can't get rid of it, I had a headache the entire first night. The lobby also smelled like natural gas; im not sure if that's the norm. I aslo had a bad experience with the shuttle service. I was told it lest to the airport at the top of each hour, however when I arrived at the lobby i was told they would not be shuttling guests because they had a "special group " to transport and if i wanted to get a ride I would have to wait for the next hour. OUTSIDE of that, the cleaning staff, the front desk and the syat the coffee shop were great

I was there for a dance event. My friends and I ordered a kids chicken tender platter to snack on between classes. Two of four tenders were stuck together. When we tore into those, one of us with the tender in their mouth, we noticed the chicken was 50% raw. It was bad. We took the plate back to the bar, and they said "we got you." and walked away. We had a class to get to so we didn't stick around. There was no credit on my card, so not sure if they remade the raw chicken? No apology, no outrage. My friend stood at the bar with a mouthful of raw chicken and another person at the dance event handed her a napkin to spit it out. It was great. So, beware of the tenders.

My two night stay was comfortable, quiet and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Would definitely stay again.

The staff was extremely helpful & friendly. The omelet to order at the buffet breakfast was delicious. Suggestion: extra blankets & exhaust fan in the bathroom.

Staff left our room door open for an unknown period of time (we were gone about 10 hours) , didn't replace dirty towels, put trashcan on top of suitcases instead of putting it back in the bathroom. Dirty glassware was left in the room each day. Busy mother's day & graduation weekend for them but these things should be almost muscle memory items to do. Bar service was slow which seems odd as this is generally a money maker... it was not busy. Head bartender seemed to deliberately slow walk ingredients for our drinks. Can't recommend this place
