Courtyard by Marriott Columbus Downtown

This is a decent hotel with attentive staff. You have to go up a set of stairs to get to the elevator because this is an historic building and they couldn't alter it to put in lower floors. They have a plaque explaining the history which is interesting. The room was comfortable and quiet. They didn't seem very busy. Breakfast is weird. We received a coupon for one tall drip coffee and one breakfast item. They have free coffee available but not decaf. They made me a decaf coffee and it seemed we could have pretty much anything on their breakfast menu. It's essentially a mini Starbucks. But why not have a carafe of decaf coffee like other places do? We parked at a lot down the street for much less than they were charging. This is an easy walk to the sports complex.

At check-in we were charged an amount as a deposit for eventual incidents. The bad thing is that we weren't informed about it beforehand. At checkout the amount was returned with no problems. We just wish we'd been informed that it'd be necessary during the reservation.
