Lobby looks dark, maybe need to do some renovations

We (my husband and myself) were in Vancouver for him to work an event. I went solely for vacation purposes. Even though we booked third party (Costco) - the hotel staff were gracious and wonderful! The check in process was quick, the checkout process even quicker! Breakfast buffet was consistent and delicious. Our room was clean, with minimal noise from adjoining rooms. It is located in the heart of Vancouver, with easy access to the subway, bus routes, and there is always a cab waiting outside if you prefer. Anytime we asked a staff member for assistance, they knew exactly where to go or who to direct us to. This stay was incredible.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and a great location. It been a week and they have retained my deposit. This is unacceptable.

Great location, especially if going on a cruise. Great value breakfast. Fabulous room. Friendly staff. Starbucks on site.

I'm just finishing a 5 night stay here. I love the location. It's walking distance to Gastown, West End, and all of downtown. The Burrard Skytrain station is across the street, giving you easy access to much of the whole metropolitan area, including trains directly to the airport. I got a room with a king bed, high floor. The room is plenty large, with a desk, a chair and ottoman, mini-fridge. The bedside lamp tables serve as your dressers, each with 2 large, deep drawers. I have a great view looking NE up Burrard St. There are 2 things about the room I don't like. One, the "desk" is just a table, and it is the incorrect height for a desk. So when you're sitting in the chair working on your laptop on the "desk", it's a couple inches higher than you'd get with a genuine desk. Not ergonomically comfortable. The second thing is even worse...location of the safe. It's in the closet, and is located waaay down by the floor, MUCH TOO LOW! Awkward as can be when you bend over to enter your lock code or open it up. It's out-and-out goofy how low they put it, just dumb. There are lots of dining options at the hotel, none of which I used because quite frankly there's so many great dining options in and around downtown Vancouver. The Starbucks in the lobby is great...I got my morning latte there every day. There's a branch of RBC right next door, also a pharmacy, Tim Horton's and McDonald's. No complimentary bottled water was given, which was a bit of an insult given the roughly $600 per night price we paid.
