Marriott Providence Downtown

The check in staff was incompetent and rude. Frontdesk receptionist charged my credit card $100 for “incidentals” when in fact the charge is a $100 DEPOSIT. She never said any of this; I discovered the charge while at dinner tonight. Additionally, when I called the front desk to ask about this, I was told that she was prepared to call me anyway because I did not pay for the room —in short, this was the worst stay, the most incompetent staff I’ve ever encountered in nearly a half century of travel around the world. On top of everything else, I had to press the manager and front desk staff to admit aloud that all questions and confusion was caused on their end by whatever disparities in communication between Expedia and this truly horrible hotel. The manager admitted this, and yet no apology whatsoever. I’ve never written a public bad review of any service. But Yelp or other forum will know about this Marriott Providence Downtown (a misnomer, by the way; downtown is a dangerous mile or so away) as the last place you’d want to lay your head. It would be much better to sleep in your car or out in the elements on the street than this dirty, wretched place. The room has a chair that has been sliced open with feathers coming out of it. It smells bad and for $332 a night (no mention that parking is $32 per night to place your car in an empty, dangerous open parking), this place should be condemned.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay. All of the staff were so friendly, kind, and helpful. My room was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the convenient shuttle service made navigating the city easy. It was simply a 10/10 experience.

El lío, que me hicieron con el cobro de la habitación. El abuso del Parking, ya que te cobran bien por el hospedaje, quieren sacar más por el Parking.

The pool was amazing

I just checked in and let me just say, these hotel is only halfway newly renovated. The lobby is beautiful, the pool area is beautiful and from the website some of the newer renovated rooms are really nice but im on the 3rd floor and this room looks like its from the late 90s! The staff was very pleasant but thos room is somewhere i never imagined staying and i have to for 3 wks! Due to work. I just can't believe its this outdated and the smell is old in the room and making me nauseous. This is a very honest review. From the lobby you will be fooled unless you get a newly renovated room. These types of rooms shouldn't even be available to occupy.

Overpriced. And then they have the nerve to charge for parking. Also, who has a 5pm check in. I had to wait over half hour to check in because they couldn’t find my reservation. Nice pool, staff and food at the restaurant is good but I won’t be back!

Pol was nice, breakfast too expensive

They have a pool and shopping area is great, downside $32 a day for parking didn't know till checked in to the property

Had to pay $32 per day for parking despite the fact it showed free parking on booking.com Was a family of 4 and needed to walk to reception to get new water bottles daily. No complementary breakfast
