The hotel is located on the high street of Castlerae. It was very nice and within walking distance of all amenities. The best thing was their breakfast, it was very good and very filling.

"Worth the trip."

10.0

Paul Tully is great. His son was running reception and the pub when we arrived on New Year’s Eve. He let us take drinks to the room to relax before dinner. Paul is very knowledgeable about the local area having been there 50+ years. Told stories about the old manor house and fairy village. The pub was the place to be filled with locals. Our morning walk before breakfast was great thanks to Paul. We saw an elephant’s grave, a derelict church where Oscar Wilde’s fsther is buried and a fantastic Suck River Valley walk. The old hotel has excellent atmosphere on Main Street. Our room was like a 5 star resort modern room, huge with an awesome view.

"Castlerea enhanced by the reopening of this wonder"

10.0

We had booked for one night and on arrival we received a very warm welcome, this is a family run hotel recently reopened, we were shown to a beautiful large warm room it was a very cold night,it was very cosy and comfortable , the bathroom was large and modern. for dinner we opted for a simple fish and chips which were delicious these were not the standard tasteless frozen chips served in most establishments these were the real thing fresh and tasty a real treat.later i had what i consider the best pint of guinness i have tasted in long time. we had a wonderful nights sleep and were served a wonderful full Irish breakfast the following morning. A town is diminished without a hotel so, it is fantastic to see this family run hotel back in business . it has a lovely friendly relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. Congratulations and continued success.
