The Dharma Lodge

it was close to a train station so i could go to work. The room was a good size and had a tiny bathroom included, The water was hot, There is a small car park. One of the members of staff was lovely and nice. Tea and coffee stuff Shops nearby.

it is run down, dirty, with worn out appliances and cobwebs. The Bed is worn, the whole place is in need of refurbishment and refresh/ decoration. The car park is so small my tiny car only just managed to fit in-between the gates so any thing bigger good luck. There was a person who is a chain smoker so had to listen to them go up and down the stairs and open the doors so not good on the sound proofing and it only stopped once they wetn to sleep. wifi was rubbish. There was no window in the room. Had to listen to washing machine or tumble dryer all night that got old very quickly. The shower handles were so hard to turn and move and there was a old cleaning staff lady who was aggressive and scary and constantly was shouting and screaming at other people she was abrupt and quite rude. tea and coffee cups needed a clean. Bed was dirty.

Check in was a fiasco, when we arrived there was no-one around so we ended up having to phone someone. We didn't get asked for any security details, were given the key code to get in & told our room key was in a plant pot!! Reception was 1 room & the bedrooms were in a completely building. Depite being advertised as a b&b, breakfast was not available. We only found this out when I called to ask about a vegetarian breakfast. The room was very basic & dated. The bathroom was a joke & was about 3ftx6ft . It had a sliding door which only opened about 1/3 of the way as it was broken. The shower had 1 temperature, scalding hot. There was a weird locked door in the room which we had no idea where it went, apart from seemingly the back of the church hall. It made us feel nervous that someone could potentially come in from that door without us knowing. Not worth £60, never mind £160.

We booked this hotel as it was the only one available in the area for an event we were attending. Check was terrible, no-one was in the reception & we had to call to get access. We were not asked any security questions & were given the code for the door & simply told our key was in a flowerpot!! Despite being advertised as a b&b, it was just the room. I only found this out when i called about needing a vegetarian breakfast. Whilst the room itself was bearable, the bathroom was horrendous. The sliding door didnt open properly so we had to squeeze in, the shower only had 1 temperature, absolutely boiling. The bathroom was no more than 3ft-6ft & felt incredibly cramped. The whole room felt very dated & run-down. The beds were relatively comfortable. We were glad we only had the room booked for one night. Definitely NOT worth £159!!!

It’s a hostel selling itself as a stop gap B&B. Advertised as a B&B that doesn’t do breakfast. I worry for your safety if you Stay here, luckily I was dragged up and not brought up, so unfortunately I am use to dumps like this in my earlier days. Just Awful.
