Wyndham Phoenix Airport - Tempe

The hotel was clean. The Beekman 1802 toiletries was a nice touch. We enjoyed the breakfast at the onsite restaurant although the service was lacking. The shuttle service was the main issue because my selection criteria was a place close to the airport with shuttle service. I called upon collecting our baggage and was told that the shuttle service ended at 9pm. REALLY? Having been on the road all day, traveling from the East Coast, this was an unpleasant surprise. n

Hotel is very outdated. Staff was rude and not helpful. Pool dirty. Not enough pool towels. Restaurant/bar not open during day. Bathrooms old and falling apart. Paid over $250/night. At best, this is a 2 star hotel.

Clean but old and dated. No coffee shop. Restaurant dinner only and limited hours. No restaurants within walking distance. Staff transactional and no warmth. A little cheaper than others but rude share costs to:from restaurants alone made it the same or mire expensive than more convenient locations. Free shuttle to airport.

Location was great and convenient. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the hotel as we were here for spring training and were gone most the day. Overall, the room was cleaned when we arrived. Looks like they did some updates but haven’t got to the bathroom yet. The bathroom was not the cleanest. We were on first floor which was very noisy in the hall and people above us. Overall staff was very nice, expected the price since it was spring training time. They did offer several amenities but we didn’t use them.

The mattress was beyond horrible. It was the most restless and uncomfortable sleep I can remember, 4 nights in a row. I asked at the desk if something could be done, but they said all the mattresses need to be replaced and they’re “working on it”. She also said switching rooms could just possibly get me a worse mattress. There was mildew in the shower, also the ice machine non-functional on first floor. I asked for a partial refund but was ignored.

The first room we were assigned stank, and upon walking into it my partner got an allergy attack. Which unfortunately lingered the entire weekend. You'd think for almost $200 a night, they could put us in a room that didn't smell like a wet dog. After talking to the front desk, they reluctantly agreed to move us. The second room smells better, but my partner continued to suffer during our whole stay. He's not usually allergic to dogs or cats, unless people don't vacuum or keep up after their hair. I honestly don't know what's up with this hotel, he's never had issues like this before.
