Holiday Inn Newcastle Gosforth Park by IHG

So quiet despite being just off busy A1 lots of parking, all very clean & smart looking. Staff in bar attentive & everyone smiled We had a great nights sleep

We have recently got back from a stay at this hotel with a coach tour. Firstly its a lovely hotel, the decor is modern and roomy. Its set in lovely grounds where you can sit outside or go for a walk around the grounds. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and roomy. The bed comfortable and the pillows are the best I have slept on. Normally pillows in other hotels have seen better days. However the food lets it down if your doing a say coach tour. The price of your holiday includes the food so its done on what seems to be a budget. It was buffet style. The starters and desserts where not a problem, but the mains where very hit and miss, more misses that hits. The only heat came from heat lamps and was not that hot. Breakfast was your usual English and continental. The only thing really decent was the fried eggs which you had to ask for. The bacon was dried/the sausages where not the best in general it was not good and every guest throughout the hotel had the same. Its a low building . Its is on the flight path for Newcastle airport and a main road running along side, don't be put off by this because its very quiet.

Staff were great, rooms were immaculate, really comfy bed

Was a little pricey, but you really do get what you paid for
