Leonardo Royal Hotel Düsseldorf Königsallee

The hotel in and of itself was great. Friendly staff at check-in. The room was nice, clean and comfortable.

At 4:30 AM I woke up from a dripping sound. Checked the bathroom: nothing. It seemed to have come from the airconditioning unit but with no visible leakage I didn't think anything of it. After barely falling asleep, I woke up again around 5:00 AM, again to a dripping sound. Nothing to be found. Same thing again and I woke up at 5:30 AM to a full on leak. Water came heavily dripping, almost pouring out of our ceiling. Called reception, we were moved to another room for the night, and that's it. No apologies, no further check-up, nothing. The hotel was definitely not cheap and with this amount of discomfort I had expected a little more from staff then just some extra towels to throw on the floor and the keys to a different room on a different floor on the opposite side of the hotel. One night there, breakfast for two and parking for 24 hours set us back almost € 200 while the experience in our room was a disaster.
