Hilton Garden Inn Saskatoon Downtown

The room was nice and clean. Looked updated.

The soap dispenser was almost empty, they didnt bother refilling the soap or changing the toilet paper roll that had 4 squares left on it. The sheet had some odd stains on them but we got that changed. We went to dinner to the restaurant (4 adults) and the service was horrible. We were the only people there. The waitress didnt bother to write down our orders and drink orders which all came mixed up... never once came to our table to ask how was the food or if we need more drinks/refils...and again we were THE ONLY ONCE there. The pool has been closed since March and the hotel didnt bother to let us know ahead of time. We did book this hotel in January for the food specifically. When asked to be accommodated, they said they can voucher our parking (16$ BTW, not free). The manager offered to give us a full refund and we could go to a different hotel.. however all the other hotels were already booked/sold out this weekend. Anyways would not recommend this hotel. The area downtown is also were questionable and odd people walking in the parking lot. When we checked out the lady at the front had a child hanging around the front desk, didnt even bother to ask how was our stay just handed us the receipt. No apologies or accountability.

When I booked nothing on line about the pool and hot tub going to be closed for renovations . Not interested in doing any comps because of closure just kept saying the closure was listed on line when it wasn't when I booked .Also chemical smell coming from kitchen reno so strong had to sleep with window open .

Location is fantastic and loved that they provide a fridge and microwave in the room. Very convenient if you eat out and have leftovers etc. Loved that especially!

Says it’s smoke free but there were some folka smoking next to our room filling up the bathroom with the smell of smoke. It was also noisy at night disrupting sleep. They also do not provide daily cleaning service; apparently it’s only every other day. This was not communicated at check in.

Hotel and staff were decent. Location was nice downtown and ability to park underground was good, especially since overnight temperatures got down to -27 degrees.

Pool/spa was less than stellar, especially since no one would answer the house phone, necessitating a trip to the front desk to get towels. Also, there was a major kitchen renovation going on and the breakfast restaurant was coated in a layer of what was described to us as "concrete dust". I have attached photos of the plate storage. Staff apologized profusely, but offered no solution or compensation.

Hotel was having renovations which we were not informed of when we booked. Loud drilling was happening until 7pm and started before 9am.
