When staying at the Birmingham Airport Hotel, ensure you lock up your belongings. Our experience was quite disheartening and serves as a cautionary tale. We left our AirPods charging on the desk before departing at 7:30 AM without checking out. Within 15 minutes of leaving, we called the hotel and requested housekeeping to retrieve the AirPods. They assured us they would collect and mail them to us. Initially, we felt relieved as the AirPods were traced back to the hotel. However, the subsequent days were frustrating. Despite multiple inquiries, we received no response, and tracking ceased to work. When we finally made contact, the front desk attendant rudely blamed us for leaving the AirPods behind. The situation deteriorated further when we managed to trace the AirPods to The Onin Group, a staffing company in Bessemer. The hotel claimed they interviewed staff but couldn't locate the AirPods, promising to monitor the situation. It's not about the cost; I hope whoever has them enjoys them- they clearly needed them. The issue is the lack of urgency and assistance we received and that hotel staff with room access did not find the item where it was left 15 minutes prior. By the time we got any real assistance a month had gone by, making it too late to investigate further. To all future guests, please secure your belongings and double-check before leaving. Rooms are apparently cleaned before 8 AM and before guests check out, so anything left behind might disappear. This review aims to highlight the issue in hopes that future guests won't "lose" their items.

Best thing about this property is proximity to airport and shuttle service. Also, the staff was very nice and professional. The rooms have not been maintained -- really needs a total renovation. A small detail, but TV cable (satellite?) system was terrible. Impossible to navigate.

The place is out dated need bad up dating or rebuild the whole business, they need to pull old carpet up and place new furniture in every room then the price of the room will be worth it, I am surprised Holiday Inn has not taken there sign off this location.

Starting to age, with many upgrades needed. Breakfast buffet was just okay.
