Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Opelika Auburn by IHG

Do not book with this Holiday Inn Express. I called 6 months ago to book a room for homecoming. Prices were elevated due to being a football weekend. When I checked online for availability it stated no pre-payment needed. Called the 1-800 number and when the rep confirmed everything he said they would need payment now. I explained what I saw and he c checked the site and saw it too. It would not let him proceed because it was independently owned. He called and worked everything out and stated I would not be charged until my stay. On August 13th they ran my card for the full amount. I called the hotel multiple times, which was later in the day and which I was unable to speak with anyone. I called the next day which was 30 days before my stay and was told that there have a 30 day cancelation policy. I explained that I was within the 30 day window and the lady then changed and said she could not cancel because she was not a manager. I explained that it would be over the so called 30 day window and she told me again that she was not a manger and could not help me. So, I called the next day to speak to the manager and all she kept saying was that they have a 30 day calcelation policy and she was sorry. I would never stay here and advise others not too either due to the robotic nature of their employees not taking into life occurrences.

We stayed in an Jr Suite. It was an excellent stay after being on the road for 11 hours. Easy to get to yet hidden from major traffic. Gas station very close and What a Burger is an easy distance. Great experience staying here and will absolutely stay again/

It was a nice hotel. The blinking fire alarm over our bed was annoying as was whatever kept knocking in our bathroom all night. I assume it was the shower pipes. Other than those annoyances, the room was fine. The staff was very friendly.

The cleanest hotel ever. Very friendly staff, excellent coffee.

Everyone was perfect.

Excellent check in experience. Great front desk, staff. Friendly staff everywhere I encountered them. However, housekeeper did not replace items I used each day (i.e., facial cleanser, towels, coffee pods.).
