Historic Whiting Hotel Suites

I liked that it was walking distance (2 blocks) from the Pioneer Woman Mercantile. The hotel was no-frills, which I didn’t mind, but the bathroom was small and I would have to jiggle the handle to get the toilet to flush. The lamp by the bed was very dim. The staff was very nice.

We selected this hotel, because of the proximity to the Mercantile, and for its value. We knew before we arrived the type of place that we booked. The nostalgia of the place is great, but I do think some simple updates could be made without compromising the nostalgia. For example, the floors need to be finished and re-painted and patched in places where the concrete is broken. An investment in new mattresses for the beds would be a great improvement. The driveway that leads up the hill and out behind the hotel is in desperate need of repair. it seems it would be an easy thing to fix. It is full of potholes. Otherwise, our short stay was fine with no issues.

Wonderful way to experience history. It was spacious, comfortable , and fun. The comforts and details showed that it was well taken care of. Loved every minute.

We appreciated the presence and work of Joseph but the hotel needs work to make it safer. Bed was comfortable and enjoyed the kitchen amenities but outside back porch dangerous

The location was great and the room was mostly clean. There seemed to be a cold wind coming in around the window and the window itself was very dirty and cracked. The room could definitely use some simple updates and decorating. Overall, it was a good stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Historic Whiting Hotel from October 15 - 19, 2023. We enjoyed the quiet, we are from NYC, and have to say that we had the best sleep considering we were in an unfamiliar environment. Joseph and his staff were very friendly, courteous, and helpful. They were always accommodating and went out of their way to assist us every time we called. What we did not like was that the tub is an accident waiting to happen. It wasn't too scary for me. That said, it was for my husband. There are no hold railings to get into and out of the tub. We had to come in/out by holding onto the sink and the side of the tub ever so slowly as we entered or left the tub. Also, there wasn't any type of rubber padding in the tub to help avoid a fall. We used one of the hand towels on the floor of the tub to add some stability for our feet. There was only soap as an amenity in the bathroom and that was a sliver. We went to the store to buy a bar of soap so that we could wash. I would recommend a hand help shower head to bathe because I think it would have been safer considering the issues we had with the tub. This way we could stand still and adjust the hand held shower head to the different parts of our body. Lastly, some hangers would have come in handy. There wasn't a one. Didn't think to ask for hangers because I assumed that if they were not in the room, they didn't exist. Despite my complaints about the property, we did enjoy ourselves.

The property is old and the room smelled moldy. I wold not stay there ever.

Liked how close it was to downtown. It would be great if they added the lamp that is in picture to make reading easier!! Delivered what was promised on line.

This was my 3rd stay. The location of the hotel is perfect-walked to everything. Could use more outside lighting especially where stairs lead up to hotel rooms, a bit creepy feeling later at night. Love the Checkin and checkout system. Hassle free!
