1863 Inn of Gettysburg

location was great breakfast was very good you cannot beat the location

The bed was awful. Got no sleep. The AC was ridiculously loud. Felt like the 1980s spring break. Not a good experience at all. Over priced to say the least, definitely not worth the money.Sad. And...smell of stale cigarettes everywhere

We chose this hotel because it was within walking distance to a lot of the shops and restaurants. Since parking can be iffy in Gettysburg this was a deciding factor.

We were not provided a do not disturb sign, and were woke up by housekeeping every day before 9:30 am. The first morning the housekeeper even busted through our dead bolt to get in our room at 10 am. Since this trip was for paranormal investigations, and we were up late every night, this was so not appreciated.

If your outside stairs had gates on the floor so that if a pet did get out they cant get on the street or an outside latch for the door. With the paddle handles, it would be easy for a dog to hit the handle and open the door.

Clean, well equipped rooms, gracious and helpful staff, great breakfast included, (a self-making pancake machine which delighted children), free parking.

the Inn layout with exterior doors to rooms is not the best... but that is unchangeable .... I still would totally recommend for a short stay.
