Wingate by Wyndham Kansas City

OMGosh, this place is FILTHY, HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING! There's also NO temperature controls, you burn up or it is barely tolerable. The parking lot [with homeless camped out], hallways, elevator, even front desk carpets are squalid and smelly. The Health Department Warning posted 2 rooms down was the topper! [See actual photo!] Yes, you get what you pay for....but, I'm warning you to sleep in your car!

Conveniently location

The property appears very outdated, and several amenities were either not functioning or closed by the city, including the pool and on-site restaurant. In the room, there were very limited eating utensils provided, and they were placed on a paper plate, which felt inadequate. The microwave was also outdated and malfunctioning—it continued running even after being turned off. Additionally, there were basic housekeeping oversights, such as no soap available in the bathroom and the bath soap dispenser being empty. At checkout (around midnight), I was unable to receive a receipt due to the internet and system being down, which was inconvenient. Overall, the stay did not meet expectations due to maintenance issues and lack of basic amenities.

It was close to the interstate

It was very dirty, the whole place did not look like it had been cleaned in a long time. Also extremely outdated. The drinks at the bar were very high priced for what they offered. And when we were checking out the pool had a health dept hazard sign up.

The hallways smelt like shampoo

1. One of the rooms we had had no AC and it took them two hours to finally move us to a different room. 2. That different room smelled like smoke and the bathroom door had to be slammed shut to actually shut. Also, there was a hole in the ceiling right above the shower. And there was weed in the peep hole so that’s weird. 3. Our sink flooded for over 12 hours and wouldn’t drain. After calling three times they finally sent someone up and it only took them like 10 seconds to fix. They could’ve told us how to fix it over the phone so it didn’t inconvenience us and them. 4. There were lots of stains on chairs, curtains, lamps and walls in all of the rooms we were saying in. Including what looked like a punch mark in a lamp. 5. The keys for our room did not work when we came back from our activities like they locked us out so they had to create a whole new key for it (didn’t ID or anything to prove we were actually staying in that room) 6. Multiple people told us not to get the orange juice at breakfast because it tasted like water and there were hardly any options to choose from for food. Even the lids didn’t fit the coffee cups. It’s not like we came towards the end of breakfast. It was middle to beginning of when they start serving it.

It was easy to get to, pretty conveniently located, and the room was decent.

The bathroom could have used some maintenance as the toilet wasn’t flushing. We were given a plunger, but that didn’t fix the flushing issue. We managed!
