Residence Inn by Marriott Buffalo Downtown

The staff was very friendly and it was very clean and cozy

The Hotel Room was exceptionally clean and really modern and up to date. We really enjoyed our stay with my husband and kids.

Had a bit of trouble regulating the heat. Not sure if at first it wasn't working properly or I couldn't figure out how to use it but for the first 2 hours it was blowing cold air

We stayed for the Bills-Chiefs game. Too bad Bills won, but the stay in Buffalo was great. One big plus was that parking was free for our rental car. We walked to Anchor Bar, home of Buffalo wings, from Residence Inn. Went to the Casey's Black Rock, a Chiefs bar, and I still need to send the owner, Vinnie, a Bobby Witt bobblehead. We drove up to Niagara Falls avoiding tolls because they were ridiculously expensive from Dollar rental car. Both sides of the Falls were great, partly because it was off-season and not overly crowded. We toured Martin House. I enjoyed driving around neighborhoods with the large mansions from (I think) the late 1800's or early 1900's. On our last day, I finally checked the sign in front of the house across the street from the hotel and found it was where Teddy Roosevelt was first inaugurated president in 1901. Overall the trip to Buffalo and the Residence Inn were both great!

This hotel was on sale and so we could afford it. In this case, you get what you paid for. The room was modern, bright, unusually spacious and conveniently organised appointed. Kitchen was great. Parking was plentiful and free. Location was in downtown and felt safe. There are decent places to eat nearby and the location is convenent if you like to visit galleries and museums (as we did).

Major problem with room is the sofa bed which is lumpy and hard making it difficult to sleep. Also beware — rates get jacked up majorly when there is a Bills home game. Went from about $200 to $500. Just checked the website and there’s a game today and now it’s over $600. However, I must say the staff is great and the breakfast, which is included, is pretty good.

This hotel is a good choice for any stay but particularly well suited for an extended stay. The spacious room and kitchenette made it very comfortable for our week long stay. The price is very reasonable especially given the free self park available on site. The staff were very helpful. My only negative was that they do not provide complimentary coffee or tea beyond the breakfast which ended pretty early(9:30 am) on weekdays.
