"Great for the price"

6.0

Literally just checked in because we were too tired to drive. Very cheap price which was great, room condition was o.k. what you would expect for the price lol... it smelled like some heavy duty cleaning was done before we got it, not sure if it was only that room or if they all have the odor. Great for the night!

"Ovmomma"

2.0

This hotel needs a complete make over and not sure why it’s on hotel.com site! It is falling apart, curtains were caked in cigarette smoke, not clean, room smelled. Bed was disgusting. If I hadn’t have had our sleeping bags we would have left! The worst hotel we’ve stayed in. The receptionist was nice is all I can say good about this hotel.

"I'll stay again"

8.0

The gal at check in was extremely friendly and in a genuine way. It was a nice change from all the fake smiles or strict business encounters I'm used to at other hotels. She took the time to give me directions to food places. Also it's nice to be able to find cheaper hotels that don't cost an arm and a leg. I'm usually only there 5 or 6 hours, I don't have time to utilize all the fancy pools or whatnot the bigger hotels charge for. Only downside was the wifi wasn't the best. But for 40 bucks it was still more than I'd expected. A bit hard to find as the hotel is around the corner and hidden by trees, and the sign isn't well lit, but still worth the stay.

"Good"

2.0

Did not stay there. It sets way back off the road at a deaf end and when we pulled into the parking lot there was some drunks building a bonfire. They made a comment about having a nice truck. Trashy and scary.

"Bargain price, decent motel."

8.0

Considering the reasonable price this is a great place to sleep. Fridge & microwave in room. Some beds are more comfortable than others, if you prefer a softer bed it's worth saying so at check-in. Rooms are small but clean enough. Towels etc cheap, no bath mat. Near interstate and truck stops but not so much that noise is a problem.

"Clean, Quiet, Adequate"

8.0

First, this review is based on the room I stayed in for the night so conditions & opinions may vary. Second, keep in mind the price you are paying. If you expect a 4 or 5 star motel at a minimal price, you may be disappointed. But if you want a clean, adequate stay akin to an older Motel 6, then you'll find it here. You'll see the entire motel off of the interstate clear enough, but once you head down a back country lane between the corn & soy fields, you may begin to think you took a wrong turn. Then, when you approach the entrance at the end of the dead end lane, you'll see an abandoned building to your right and what looks like an equally abandoned parking lot leading to overgrown, hidden unknowns. But just drive past all that and you'll see the office and the rest of the motel appear. I was greeted promptly enough and exchanged my infos via a slot through the security window. That kinda made me wonder if the area was safe or not, but being way out in the darken countryside, I can understand why. Don't let that scare you away. There was no one I saw creeping around, just a couple guys with work truck equipment in back. Now on to the room. My room was clean enough for an older motel: older color TV with cable, a clean refrigerator, clean microwave, phone, a table & 1 chair. The room smelled abit musty when I entered - almost reminiscent of left over cigarette smoke in the "non-smoking" room, but it seemed to lessen as the room cooled in the AC. The bathroom had 2 sets of towels, no tissues in the holder and a hair dryer which I didn't use so I can't comment if it worked or not. It smelled very musty/moldy, but I think it was from stagnant water deep down on the pipes because as the sink filled up, it was slow to drain. Yet, still, everything was clean enough. The AC console worked steady throughout the night, but the temps dropped down to 54F and I still had the AC on "High Cool" at #5. Which leads me to wonder if on very hot days, does the AC even work adequately?! Plus, I was sleeping by myself. When I did wake up, I admit while comfortable, I turned the heat on low to chase off the chill as I got ready for the day, but after 10-15 minutes, the fire alarm started chipping intermediately. I turned off the heater, fanned the alarm and it quit. So if you do stay and know you're gonna need the heater - first thing would be to keep the door open for a few minutes and let the initial heat fumes burn off. This is what the girl in the office told me they do. An added plus was free WiFi! Strong enough to watch YouTube videos & peep in on my home security webcam. They only serve coffee in the morning, but there are 2 popular truck stops only a mile past the corn fields where you can get anything else you may need or wish to eat. In conclusion, you can't beat the price for the room you get. Clean, quiet, adequate.

"Very dirty, looked abandoned"

2.0

We reserved one room for one night. It's at the end of the road, you drive past a clean and well-lighted Budget Inn, then see a small sign for Travel Inn, and go past an abandoned gas station to the weedy lot of the Travel Inn. I usually stay at cheaper inns, but this seemed pretty seedy, with disarranged curtains at several of the windows, and no other car in sight. I went in to the office, which had a dirty door and absolutely stank of stale cigarettes. The reception window was also dirty. No bell to ring, so I had to assume they heard me come in. No one came to the window, so I eventually got back in my car and drove away; my son said some guy with a phone in his hand looked out of the window next to the office as we left. We went back to the Budget Inn and stayed there.

"An adequate room, with a bed & bath while on the road"

8.0

A basic place to spend the night after driving all day and back to it first thing in the morning. Typical well-worn but clean place to rest at a reasonable rate. They do provide smoking rooms on request.

"Maybe we just didn't get one of the newly renovated rooms"

4.0

But, although there was indeed plenty of spacious parking, the "non smoking" room we received stank of stale smoke, the "queen" size bed was a double and even if you could get over the smell, everything was old and tired l looking and may have been clean but it was difficult to get past the way it smelled and looked. We chose not to stay for the night.

"Real value for money!"

10.0

Me and my wife stayed here for a night on the way from NY to Wisconsin. It was very cheap ($38) and really worth the price. The room and bathroom were generally clean and they provided a microwave, refrigerator, iron, TV and a hair drier in the room. Microwave & refrigerator weren't things I expected for this cheap price! The lady at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming. I would stay here again if I have to stop at somewhere closer to Ohio turnpike.
