Thon Hotel Tromsø

The location of the hotel is in a prime spot near the center of Tromso with access to all local ameneties and the bus terminal which is the main hub for tours and excursions. Hotel is clean, staff are attentive and the breakfast is OK if you are on the go.

Hotel room is really noisy, I could hear a loud humming noise from the first floor from one of the extractor fans. The room is small and the cleaners only made our bed and changed the bins and gave fresh towels apart from that nothing else was cleaned.

Breakfast was really nice apart from Both toaster’s were rubbish very slow at actually toasting the toast, kept popping up. Was told by the staff not to use toaster near the gluten-free stuff and it was only for gluten free bread. Don’t understand why and if so it was not stated. Plus fried eggs were cold every day ruined my breakfast

Der Empfang war super freundlich und haben jede Frage beantwortet . Das Zimmer war super gemütlich und sehr bequeme Betten waren auch vorhanden. Das Frühstück war einfach hervorragend es war ausreichend da und immer frisch . In die Stadt ist es wirklich nicht weit das Hotel ist super zentral gelegen würde es immer wieder buchen war einfach super

Nichts

We stayed 4 nights in Room 408. Compact room with two joined single beds. Safe in room. Decent wet room. Good WiFi. Breakfast very well stocked and extensive choice. Large room for dining. Room on 4th of 6 floors serviced by two lifts. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful as were staff at Breakfast. Excellent location.

Location - 151 room hotel right in the centre of Tromso, with most of the towns attractions only a short walk away. Appearance - very clean and tidy. Staff keep rooms and reception spotless. Staff Service - All the staff we met were warm, friendly and helpful, a credit to the Norwegian people. I should not have any favourites but Oda on reception was extremely helpful and kind, and Msria Marthinsen at breakfast is a star performer. She carried out her duties with a smile, spoke perfect English and always had a minute or two to chat with guests and ask how holidsys were going. Food/Drinks - The only food the hotel provides is breakfast, and don't they do it well. Hot and cold drinks are readily available, there is a choice of hot and cold buffets and I was surprised to see smoked salmon and caviar available on a daily basis. I thought the breakfasts were superb. The other huge asset the hotel has, is the complementary coffee and tea that is available in reception. We had many a free cup of coffee there after day trips out and they were all most enjoyable. Bedroom - We had a lovely room with twin beds. Plenty of hanging space and plenty of space for our bags. We had a free safe, fridge, and coffee/tea making facilities which were replenished daily. The room also had an iron and ironing board. Bathroom - The bathroom had a powerful shower with plenty of hot water. The room had a hair dryer and soap and shower gel dispensers. I would recommend guests bring their own shampoo/conditioner. WiFi - Free WiFi was available throughout the hotel and worked very well throughout our stay. E-mail response - I wrote to the hotel about 2 weeks before I arrived with a minor query and recieved a full response within 24 hours. Excellent service.

Room was comfortable but a bit small with 2 large suitcases
