I had the unique experience of not sleeping for three consecutive nights thanks to the air conditioner that doubled as a war zone sound simulator. Every time it cycled off or on, it made explosive popping noises. Nothing says sweet dreams like wondering if you’re under attack every 20 minutes. Looking to brighten up your stay? Good luck. I went to plug in a lamp only to discover that the cord was literally cut. No plug, no power, just decorative sadness. Speaking of power, if you need to wade through some water like you’re at an indoor swamp, check under the A/C unit—plenty of standing water to splash in. Bring your floaties! And for those who value privacy: don’t bother using the “Do Not Disturb” sign. I hung mine up like a sane person who doesn’t want strangers in their room… but housekeeping took it as more of a suggestion than a request. I returned to find the toilet lid up, and since I’m not a dude, that was alarming. Thought I had an intruder until I realized, nope—just staff ignoring boundaries. Truly a five-star experience—if you’re into sleep deprivation, indoor plumbing surprises, and the psychological thrill of uninvited guests. Can’t wait to come back! (Kidding. I’m never setting foot in that place again.)
