Thon Hotel Astoria

Nothing beats their free breakfast spread! Probably the best hotel breakfast I've ever had!

Room was tiny, which was fine but would have been nice to have just a little more room to move around. Same with the shower, super compact... All was as advertised and expected as I booked the smallest room. Might need to go up a size next time.

Ich hatte ein kleines Einzelzimmer gewählt, was ich nicht empfehle. Es ist deutlich kleiner als eine Gefängniszelle. Alles andere ist prima - Frühstück, zentrale Lage, Nähe zum Bahnhof.

The room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Easy to get to from Oslo train station.

I found the hotel very noisy. Could hear noise from other rooms which is to be expected but also heard loud music - not sure if this was from the nearby pubs and bars or from someone's room but I didn't get much sleep during my two night stay. I also didn't get to sample the breakfast which was included just as the breakfast area was far too busy and crowded for me personally - I struggled to even find where the plates and bowls were as it was so crowded. I also didn't have a view - I opened the curtains to find that my room was right by the air con/heat pump units which I could see directly out of my window along with concrete walls. For a two night work trip though it was fine and had everything I needed and as mentioned was very clean.
