Holiday Inn Houston S - Nrg Area - Medical Center by IHG

The location was good walking distance to NRG but the room was not your normal holiday inn room, it felt old, bed was hard and halfway clean but parking was good , gated inn. When I come back to NRG , I won’t stay there again but that’s just my preference,

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The only bonus is its walking distance to the NRG stadium but the rooms are trash. Walls need to be repaired, repainted, and rooms need to be overall renovated. Our sink didn’t even have hot water. I don’t even think the hand towels were clean. Hotel restaurant was gross. The waitress gave us water with our meal but the water looked more like river water or something.

We checked in late Thursday night ahead of a Friday concert, knowing we’d have an early start the next morning. First off—charging three times the normal rate just because of an event? That’s daylight robbery. When we got to the room, it was uncomfortably hot. We tried turning on the AC, but it barely pushed out any air. The hotel was fully booked, so switching rooms wasn’t an option. The room itself was clean, but not exactly what you'd expect for $1,400 over three nights. Paint was chipped on the walls and doors, and the hallways were scuffed up and worn down. After the concert, I told the front desk (again) that the AC wasn’t working. I didn’t catch the staff member’s name, but he was kind and brought us a fan. He promised maintenance would stop by in the morning. Maintenance did show up—kind of. The guy walked in, yanked the AC cover off, slammed it back on, and left without saying a word. That was it. And the parking situation? Total chaos. Hotel guests are charged for overnight parking, yet when there’s an event at NRG, they sell the lot for $60 to the public. Saturday night during the Morgan Wallen concert was a mess—hotel guests had nowhere to park. Bottom line: there are much nicer hotels in the area, including one right across the street. Save yourself the money and frustration. The front desk worker that brought us a fan gave us two vouchers for a free breakfast, which was thoughtful, but we don't eat breakfast, and they were of no use to us.

Went to the Metallica concert. Hotels did not let me know they were selling patking. I had to park on the grass I only got parking paid for parking. I should have gotten more than just parking. They need to tell me up front.

Hotel is good. Cleanliness could be better. Have stayed twice and will probably book again.

Slight mold smell in room. No ventilation in bathroom. After concert, lobby was full of people just hanging out waiting for the traffic outside to die down.

Check in person was rude and the rooms were not clean . The toilet had left overs from the previous guest

Room and location were very good. My only complaint is the bathroom. It was a very awkward setup and the toilet was “low and slow”. It badly needs to be replaced.

Great nice quiet and clean. Safe no problems!
