Couldn’t order food even though we called early enough

Location/ convenience. Friendly and helpful staff.

Overall cleanliness. There were some stains on the sheets, sticky surfaces, and visible stains in the bathroom. The room had a consistent musty smell that didn’t go away after using the A/C.

It was right next to the palace theater

Well managed and maintained property, with staff who were all very amiable and willing to assist; for my intended purpose of revisiting Waterbury, which is my birthplace, the location was perfect for exploring my grade and high school, my childhood church etc.; and the easy access to Rte. 8 for day visits to Litchfield, quite a scenic route, and then for my preferred highway to Bradley Airport (as I wished to stay off I84);

No dislikes!

The location was convenient for our event in Waterbury, the garage parking was good, and the access to the adjacent Italian restaurant was handy.

The carpet and furniture throughout were worn/stained, the elevator doors and floors were banged-up/damaged/dirty, and there was a coffee pod stuck to the air vent in our room, the air intake vent was covered in dust and it looked as though the filter had not been changed in years. The room smelled musty and slightly of cigarette smoke. The thermostat did not seem to work…set to 68 overnight it was 72 when we woke. Set to 67 before breakfast. When we returned to the room it was.76. We were supposed to stay two more nights, but decided to cancel the remaining nights. When we voiced this to the lobby attendant, she just said ok. We got the impression she gets this a lot, and has just run out of excuses/apologies. This hotel has either been forgotten/abandoned by Marriott or their standards have grossly deteriorated. The breakfast at the in-hotel Starbucks was below what we would expect from a Starbucks. We requested two croissant sandwiches to eat in, however they were jammed into cardboard takeout containers. Since they were hot when they put the in, they fused to the container. When we asked for silverware to eat them with we were handed a couple of packages of plastic-wear (this by the same woman who took our order and complained that they did not put it on a plate). More than half of our $30 breakfast ended up in the trash.
