The Mecklen Hotel, Charlotte, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Very clean, easy to get to and from airport. Staff very professional and friendly.

I was disappointed, as I don't think this stay lived up to my Holiday Inn expectations. The "King Suite" had a king bed, as expected, and a desk. Useful. But the bathroom was not fully cleaned before our arrival. The toilet sits very low and uncomfortable. The tub had handles, but the shower curtain was falling apart. The bed blanket was too short to cover us while still tucked in at the bottom. That said, the staff was nice and helpful and I had no issues with them.

Quick visit but staff was great

I was in a toom next to construction. I had a big black tool box blocking half of the entry way to my room. I just recently had knee surgery and had to maneuver around it. We were awoken at 8 by the souds of loud voices and construction noises. After coming back from a concert at 1am. It was not a pleasant sound!

The room was dusty and remained that way throughout our stay. No coffee in their in room coffee maker until last day. Bathroom was small and it was hard to close the door. The toilet seat was loose and it was repaired instantly. The total room is extremely small. We had two queen size beds for two people so we were not trying to fit a lot of people into the room. Closet was small not usual size. If you are expecting the “Hilton Experience” stay clear of this one. The location is good with many restaurants across the street but traffic is horrible on the weekend that we stayed. Several people in the wedding party expressed their disappointment.

This Holiday Inn was conveniently located and easy to get to. The fellow at the front desk, Cesar, was extremely pleasant and professional and accommodating. The beds were out-of-this-world comfortable, the room was quiet, HVAC functioned well, everything nice and clean. My only criticism of the room was that the furniture was getting a little shabby and would be a good candidate for an upgrade. On a side note, there was a heavy growth of poison ivy near the parking lot, but it's unclear if it's on the hotel's property or the neighbor's.

We were in a room that could connect, but those on the other side where people we didn’t know and they kept trying to open up the doors in between, it also makes the noise louder.
