Gopalan Borobudur

The staff was very friendly, especially the manager who actually took us for free to the site and who had inteteresting comments about the place. You can see that he built his hotel with great care and that he knows how to take care of guests. They also had a fantastic driver who took us to Jepara on July 20th, he was very friendly and very efficient. So my husband and I definitely recommend the place!!

Awesome location, close to the temple and lovely staff. Just be wary of using the airport collection or delivery as the normal journey time is one and a half hours from the airport to the hotel but we had the misfortune of being take for a joyride of two and a half hour by our driver as he decided he needed to attend to a personal task and after having to pay IDR 350 000 for the service we had no say, nor were we asked if he could do a massive detour! We were not impressed.

The view from the dining area/receptionist is amazing. Next to the hotel is vast area of padi field, highest stupa of borobudur is visible from here and right across the street is a mountain. Beautiful view. 15 min walk to Borobudur entrance. Food was amazing, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and they were very good. They prepare excellent Indonesian food, not so much for western food. They prepare western food in Indonesian way, with too much mayonnaise and sambal sauce. Room was basic. We had 2 rooms, family room and mountain view room. The mountain view room looks directly to the padi field. Good to chill while having beer or tea. Family room had 2 queen beds and can accommodate 4. But there's no window, so it's pretty dark even in the day time. Bathroom is very basic, no cubicle to shower so toilet bowl and the floor get wet. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped us get tickets to Borobudur lantern festival. Hotel was more than half occupied when we were there, during meal time the 2 ladies could barely catch up to serve everybody. Just stay patience and enjoy the view, they will get to you eventually.

If you are planning to visit the borobudur and stay the night close by: do go here!! They can bring you to the borobudur early morning (4:30 AM) and will arrange tickets (no top-up on price, just service!!). We really enjoyed our stay and would have stayed longer if we didn’t have to move on to our next destination. Relax location, view over the rice fields and on the Borobudur. We came after visiting the cities Jakarta, Bogor, Bandung and Jogya. It was really nice to be in a small village and just relax at the swimming pool and enjoy the nice food they prepared. Friendly and helpfull people. The room was nice and clean. We got the room with a view on the borobudur and over the rice fields. Amazing!

Words can’t even begin to describe how much we loved our stay at . Everything was impeccable from our hotel room, the service, the staff, the restaurant. The food at restaurant is just incredible! I only wish we stayed longer so we could try everything on the menu. Pool was amazing with the combine paddies field, Borobudur and twin mountain(Merapi and Merbabu) view. Staff are impeccable and go that extra mile to make sure your stay is enjoyable and unforgettable. 100% recommended!!!!!!
