Historic Hotel Broadalbin

Unique hotel. Very clean and quiet.

This property has been nicely restored. We stayed on a Saturday, so it would have been nice to have breakfast Sunday morning. I didn’t sleep great because of the pillows. But, in the morning, I saw firmer ones in the closet. The little coffee station was cute. However, it had no regular coffee. It was all flavored or decaf. I was dying for a regular cup of coffee. I would just remember to stock it with regular coffee for us simple folks! All in all, this place is great for the area. We were visiting family in Johnstown and this was a cute alternative to staying at the microtel.

This review is only for the buffet food that was served for a business functioning in an old remodeled Victorian era hotel. Interesting foyer, with beautiful wooden staircase leading to bedrooms upstairs. The meeting room is down the hallway to the right. The room definitely needs some refinishing, but it’s cool to be in an older somewhat redone space. However, the dry salad bread, no iced tea or hot beverages set up or offered, which is very hard to deal with when the business meeting goes long. Need something to keep awake!! Salad was fresh, but rest of the offered foods were bland. Some kind of chicken that was very dry, no flavoring. The room was large enough for everyone to be seated, but a bit noisy as people frequently entered through a side door and spoke in the room off the business room, and then left, to repeat once again.

This property has had a wonderful restoration. Clean, quiet and very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

This place is so quaint, I am definitely bringing my wife back(maybe when I can get a room with an attached bathroom lol)

The Historic Hotel Broadalbin was a quaint place to stay in a small town. The gentleman who owned the hotel was nice and attentive to our needs. The room was small, but comfortable and in good condition. We ate dinner in the hotel. The food was ok. I don't remember the name of the German dishes that my wife and I got. My wife's pork dish was delicious. My beef dish tasted good, but was over cooked. My son's burger was decent. Our room was above the kitchen, and you could hear them playing music and banging around as they cleaned up until about 9:30. Overall, it was a good stay with minor inconveniences.

Full of charm and character. Excellent staff. Rooms were spotless, comfortable, had everything you need.

We arrived late and hungry, but the kitchen wasn’t taking any more orders. Luckily the woman who checked us in (owner perhaps?) said they could do soup & salad, which was perfect. This hotel is a vintage full service hotel with dining room and bar and a friendly, accommodating staff. Very reasonable rates as well. We will gladly stay there again.
