Highland Bungalows

The place is wonderful, clean, organized, nice owner, nice staff, they have a generator, internet, 5 mins walk from the beach. They have nice breakfast, not an open buffet but good enough for a nice start of the day.

The only downside is the road right in front where driving is wild, but that’s out of the hotel control.

Unfortunatelly there is a construction site next to this place going on these days but it wasnt very disturbing.

Lovely place to stay at if you are in Nungwi. Location was good, close enough to restaurants and ATMs. About 10 min of walking to Nungwi Beach or an even quicker tuk-tuk ride. The rooms met our expectations, spacious enough for two people and we had housekeeping everyday. The host and all the staff were so sweet and accommodating, always willing to help. Special thanks to Pendo who was so welcoming and warm, such a lovely person. Overall, the vibes were great here and would definitely book again.

The water in the bathroom was salty and did affect affect our skin, especially the face. So if you have sensitive skin I'd suggest using bottled water to wash your face or using face wipes.

I absolutely loved my stay here. So much that I extended 6 more nights. I did have to move rooms a few times for them to accommodate me, but the location and proximity to everything, as well as the staff and owner, all made it 100% worth it. Breakfast each day was plenty to fill me up, and I 100% thank one of their chefs for his amazing potatoes and fried eggs! This place is close to the heart beat of everything Nungwi has to offer. Absolutely loved all 3 rooms I stayed in!! And the community that surrounds it. Plenty to do and to see. Huge thanks to everyone at Highland bungalows! It felt like my home. I will never forget and hope to be back!

There was a leakage under the sink.

The staff is very kind and helpful, the rooms are very clean, the food is good, and there is cute little monkey too , that shows up sometime. The beach is about a 10–15 minute walk away. When you leave the accommodation, it’s best to turn left and just follow the road all the way.

The breakfast was amazing. The pool was super clean, rooms clean and very comfortable beds. Quiet and calm rooms and environment, the outside noise does not get to the rooms. The hosts are very present and attentive. Thank you.
