Beautiful and charming property in the heart of San Juan. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and it's quiet. The breakfast is generous, and the coffee very nice. I highly recommend the hotel for a weekend escape.
Upon arriving to the hotel, we noticed it was in great need of a new paint job and had a pretty empty parking lot. There was no wifi and only one bar of data in the hotel room throughout both days of our stay. Our TV in room did not work as well. We had mixed reviews on the comfortability of the room. It was very clean, however I found the bed to be hard as a rock to sleep on and had a hard time resting well on this trip. There were also only 3 pillows on the entire bed and in the whole room. We left the town the hotel was in during the days because there was very little to do and only returned to sleep due to the lack of wifi or data connection in the hotel room. What was great: The service upon checkin was lovely, and they were very kind and welcoming and even helped us carry our bags to our room because it was on the second floor with stairs. We did not see any other visitors throughout the rest of our stay either. Also our room had a balcony that said it would be overlooking a garden, but it was more like the parking lot. This hotel belongs in a 2-2.5 star rating category in my opinion after my stay until some renovations can be done.
We loved our week at Posada! The small town of San Juan Bautista is quiet and historically fascinating. The mission is beautiful and anchors the town in culture and history. San Juan Bautista serves as a great base for exploring both the Monterey Bay and the Bay Area. We love family-owned hotels, in the case of Posada, three generations of family.
