Warm welcome, log fires, peaceful, lovely scenery.

Good location near Alton Towers. Decent breakfast but should be included in the price.

Over priced, bathroom was dirty, pub only had 2 beers on tap and restaurant didn’t open till gone 7pm.

Fantastic pub and owner Margaret who is lovely. This was the second year we have been here for alton towers. We will book again next too! Fantastic.

It was the ideal place to stay for our weekend away and Margaret and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. A very cozy place with open fires and 500 years of history. Considering it is only a 15 minute drive from Alton Towers is is certainly worth a vist

The location and cleanliness

L'emplacement du logement, proche du parc Alton Towers.

Literie inconfortable (on sent tous les ressorts), porte d'entrée du logement qui ne frotte et ferme à peine (sentiment d'insécurité pour nos affaires). La chasse d'eau qui ne fonctionne pas. Impossible de régler la température de l'eau de la douche (le réglage était bloqué). La déco très vieillotte comme la moquette.

Ordered Breakfast and was nice

The room was basic but clean, it has enough beds for our family and the owner was a lovely Liverpool lady

The taps are not combined hot cold and seperate, I feel the hot tap could be a danger to small children as it gets very scorching hot for the sink 😔
