"Highly recommend , super friendly staff and great location / facilities."

10.0

Stunning location . The self catering cabins were spacious , we opted to dine at the lodge. Great service , breakfast and dinner choices :) Our hosts were very friendly and the whole set up of the farm lodge is very relaxed and user-friendly , nice pool area :) We booked a sundowner , super informative guide , stunning sunset location and lots of interesting wildlife seen . As a bit of fun we booked target shooting :) For our last two nights of holiday this was the perfect place to be.

Nothing not to like !!

"If you Khan do it, you should!"

10.0

The location is remote, surrounded by a fantastic selection of wild-life. The grounds were immaculate! Even though most of the trees in the surrounding area are, what we call "Devil Thorn Trees", they were all raked away. The staff (shout out to Josie) were incredible. We were visiting with an infant and they made sure we were as comfortable as possible. I let the lodge know that we intended to braai (BBQ) the second night and they provided us with the braai drum as well as a bag of wood! 110% will be staying there again, next time for a week!

No fault of the lodge in anyway, but just a caution to visitors.. you are deep in nature. Be vigilant. A baby scorpion had managed to sneak into our bathroom!

"Wild and scenic -- long drive is worth it -- and part of the charm!"

10.0

Khan River Lodge is a secluded location, wild and highly scenic, surrounded by private land. It is about 20 km off the B2 road, which we did not quite realize until we got there. The drive itself is a lot of fun, as we saw lots of wildlife, but it is a mix of sand and dirt, challenging for smaller cars without 4WD. The property is cozy, with only about six double-occupancy units, of which we were occupying two (we were traveling as two adults and two older children). The "restaurant" is the lodge kitchen: two wonderful ladies preparing delicious meals and serving them in style. There is no posted menu, but the daily food offerings are artfully presented and tasty, based on local produce and meat. We did not realize we would be the only guests -- and we booked the self-catering option, counting on eating at the restaurant. We had booked self-catering options in other locations, but never realized how remote this one was. Upon arrival, we learned that the expectation for "self-catering" was that we would bring our own food and not need the restaurant. Since the property was just opening after the New Year holiday, they had to scramble a bit, but were kind enough to accommodate (read: feed) us. We loved the meals and the ambiance, the quiet, the lack of light pollution at night, the variety of wildlife roaming around the property, and the laid-back atmosphere -- self-service honesty bar, well-stocked and open to us at all hours.

The charm of the Khan River Lodge is in its remote location and the abundance of wildlife around it. Reaching this location is a bit challenging for those driving smaller cars without 4WD abilities. Also, the road goes through areas with acacia plants that drop thorns. While the local residents and previous visitors did not seem to be bothered much, we were a bit stressed and had a flat tire (possibly unrelated to the road hazards, as we did not find a thorn or leak spot in the tire, and we returned the car after this stay).

"Location is abit off track but google map will brings you there. Private small farm of 6000 hectares. Farm manager Rohan"

10.0

Location is abit off track but google map will brings you there. Private small farm of 6000 hectares. Farm manager Rohan has alot of passion and knowledge of the farm and eco system and always ready to bring and show us around. We saw some Kudus, Springboks, Oryx, Zebras Bat eat foxes and even a rare wild Pangolin! ☺️ The 3 farm ladies ( Josie, Eufemia & Dorcas) excellent hospitality and service. Like many said, they genuinely care about the guests and make us feel at home right from the start being so faraway from our country. Josie especially wonderful lady and great chef to make us feel happy with her food. She is always attentive and caring throughout our 4 nights stay. This is truly a nice small hospitable farm filled with love and care. The staffs is a great assets to the owner rending impeccable service which will form a wonderful memory for me and my daughter in many years to come. ☺️☺️ Keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

"Excellent for rest and recuperation"

8.0

The location was quiet and relaxing and ideal for a perfect getaway. Josie and Euphemia looked after us very well. Meals were varied with excellent catering and a very competitive price. Ruhan was on hand to offer game drives, help identify birds or to discuss the merits of the area. Thanks for a great stay Judith and Paul
