Zaimoku-an

Traditional Japanese house in good location. Charming and clean, with lovely garden sitting area. Host was easy to communicate with over WhatsApp. There was a bakery next door, which would have been perfect for breakfast, but unfortunately was not open on the days we were there. The house was spacious, with laundry —exactly what we needed in the middle of our 2 week trip. Easy to call a taxi or Uber from the house, and walking distance from many sites, but not too many restaurants.

We enjoyed the traditional Japanese experience but westerners should be aware there are no sofas or chairs. The living room has a low dining table with floor mats and the beds are all futons, so it might be challenging for people with knee problems. No bathroom on the second floor.

Everything, the place is a dream come thru. Location, decor, little touches, Michio the host. If we ever in Kanazawa in the future we would love to stay again.

This place was even more lovely than the photos. It was a tidy, beautiful space with plenty of room. I would absolutely stay here again. There's a little bakery right next door that opens at 6:30 AM, perfect for breakfast!

Wonderful little house in an impeccable location, the host was extremely kind and accommodating with us.

Being able to leave luggage after checkout would have been nice, but clearly would have been difficult to implement.

The house was beautiful, modern but traditional and loved staying there. A very cute little bakery next door too!

It's a little way from the station, but only 10 mins by taxi or 20 mins on the bus

The place is beautiful. The Japanese garden gives a wonder touch. The host Michio was super. He picked us from the train station. Location is also very good.

The fact that we stayed only one night. Seriously. This is a great place to stay.
