Villa Atlas Oasis

Our stay at Villa Atlas Oasis was a complete disappointment. The property was nothing like the description or photos. When we arrived, the place was extremely dirty — we found what appeared to be animal feces in the shower, and both the sink and toilet looked as though they had never been cleaned. We've traveled a lot in many muslim countries that are statisticaly more clean then European one (if it comes to house, not necessarly streets) but this was really awful. We were not brave enough to use the kitchen. The overall condition of the property made us want to leave immediately and stay elsewhere. However, a man who claimed to be the owner’s brother told us we couldn’t cancel due to the “no cancellation policy.” He also asked us to pay more than the amount shown on our reservation, saying he needed to cover Booking.com’s commission and otherwise it wasn’t worth it for him. We refused. Later, the actual owner called and told us to just leave the next day without paying him directly. He said he would mark us as a “no-show” in the system to avoid paying commission, and the original booking charge would simply be deducted from our card. We agreed to that, considering the circumstances. Before leaving, we informed the supposed brother of our departure. A few hours later, the owner messaged us accusing us of “running away without paying” and claimed to have us on security footage — which was completely untrue and very disturbing. We acted according to what he himself told us. This experience was stressful, unprofessional, and the property itself was far below basic standards of cleanliness and honesty. I strongly advise future guests to be very cautious when booking this place.

The owner/manager was lovely. There was no reservation the next day so he allowed us to come back to the house to rest and shower in the afternoon- well after normal check out time would have been. He also asked us to call him when we got to town so he could meet us and escort us to the villa, waiting patiently until 8:30 at night when we arrived.

The kitchen could have been a bit cleaner, trash emptied.

A bug house with a kitchen, only few minutes from the oasis walk. Super nice and friendly local people.

The property was so-so and there was not a lot of functionnal equipement in the kitchen.
