""Confirmed" has lost its meaning"

I decided to stop for the night and found this hotel on the Wyndham website. I got a CONFIRMED RESERVATION for a King Bed room. I had also seen availability for the same room at the Booking.com app. When I got to the hotel, the woman at the desk said they had no available rooms with a King bed. I didn't care about the king bed, so I said fine, give me another room. Of COURSE the only available rooms were more expensive. I said that I should get the rate I was CONFIRMED because it's not my fault the reservation system didn't work properly. She basically ignored me and changed my room type, increasing my rate and charging my card. It was odd to hear that on a THURSDAY there were no rooms available that I requested even though there were less than a dozen vehicles in the parking lot at almost 11pm. The room was comfortable enough, and everything worked well. It was pretty clean, but there are many signs of age and wear along with some staining. The breakfast was spartan and disappointing. I couldn't even finish my waffle.

The guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful!

They do NOT do connecting rooms at all for larger families, or groups, they have them, they just wont open the doors. The towels and bathmats were stained. The tub was half full of murky water in my sister in laws room when we got there there. The tvs in the rooms were not wifi connected, there was no channel guide for the live tv. The "free breakfast" was a waffle maker that was out of order, froot loops or rasin bran, honey buns, and a cappucino machine that was out of order. Never seen any sort of elevator to go to the second floor.
